At its meeting today, the Supervisory Board of EnBW Energie Baden-Württemberg AG appointed Christian Buchel (45) Chief Operating Officer (COO) and member of the EnBW Board of Management effective February 1, 2009 for a three-year term of office. Christian Buchel is currently Directeur Général of the publicly listed company Electricité de Strasbourg. Mr. Buchel succeeds Pierre Lederer who - as announced previously - stepped down from his office effective Januar 31, 2009 at the same meeting. Mr. Lederer is leaving the company of his own volition to take up a new position as Senior Executive Vice-President, Customers, at Electricité de France (EDF).
